Todd Dow is an Author, Geek, CF fundraiser, Cancer Survivor and native Hamiltonian. His wife & kids, faith, baseball, infosec & devops are a few of his favourite things. By day, Todd leads the IT Security team at a Hamilton-based business.

Andy McIlwain

Andy’s adventures in online content began as a nerdy childhood hobby, building forums and fansites with cutting-edge tools like Microsoft Frontpage and Netscape Composer. Andy currently works on content & community at GoDaddy and is a former organizer of WordCamp Toronto and the Toronto WordPress meetup group (2011-2016). Shanta R. Nathwani

Shanta is an IT, Web Design and Social Media Consultant and an Instructor in Web Design and Capstone Project at Sheridan College. She is also a principal in Web Weapons, specializing in Web Development, Business Intelligence and Educational Training.

She is a problem solver and have been said to have the patience of a saint. She can explain even the most difficult concepts to the most basic user and has developed training documents that allow clients to learn for themselves. She thrives on understanding the needs of my clients and believes in making social media as simple as possible and making it fun, which allows our clients to seamlessly incorporate it into their organization.

Shanta holds a Certificate in Business Management and a Bachelors of Commerce Degree from Ryerson University in Information Technology Management. Some of her volunteer activities include being the Alumni Advisor for the Women In Information Technology Management program at Ryerson University, Technical Advisor for the Malvern Red and Black Society and Assistant Instructor at the Canadian Martial Arts Centre.

Alan Lok

Alan Lok the owner of WirelessLinx Inc., a consulting company in the GTA area that helps with website development (WordPress, Joomla, Liferay) and stack performance tuning/analysis. He also manages the DevOps team at Mercatus Technologies and have been in most development roles in the past.

Alan has presented in the past at various WordCamps in Ontario on topics of performance optimization and scaling WordPress.

I’m from Whitby, ON and I’m currently Director of Web Development at RocketCloud Inc, a startup web hosting and web development company. I’ve been a user of WordPress for 10-ish years, and have been developing for 6, almost exclusively with WP for about a year.

Ben Cool

My name is Ben Cool and I work for A2 Hosting as the Application Optimizer / WordPress Evangelist. I have three kids and live across the lake in Ann Arbor, MI, USA. I have given presentations on System Administration topics at WCCBUS and WCA2. I am a co-organizer for WordCamp Ann Arbor in charge of volunteers and contributor day. I am a member of the WordPress.tv team (no badges). As a developer for a Hosting company, I am responsible for developing internal tools and websites as well as performance optimization tools for customers such as A2 Optimized (https://wordpress.org/plugins/a2-optimized-wp). Attending the WordPress community summit was a highlight for me last year.

Shawn Hooper

Shawn Hooper is the CTO at Actionable Books, where he enjoys combining code and data to build intelligent tools for teams and leaders. Hailing from Ottawa, Canada, Shawn has been building web applications since the late 90s, with a focus on WordPress since 2011. As a freelance developer, he has built sites for clients in the public and private sectors in both Canada and United States. He loves making use of great 3rd party APIs, promoting web accessibility and secure coding practices.

Arley McBlain

I’m a front-end developer from Burlington. I’ve been making websites for over twenty years, and WordPress themes for nearly ten! I spend most of my time with Object Oriented CSS, experimenting with streamlining workflows, and optimizing tools. I currently lead a team of developers at Carpages.ca, and love to nerd out about keyboards.

Meagan Hanes is a designer of digital things, photographer, blogger and all around creative gal living in Ottawa. She enjoys creating easy-to-use websites and technology solutions anyone lucky enough to afford her.
